BCRP issues a silver sol for the Justice bicentennial

Gaceta Perú TV (Karol Canales, 24 September 2026) reports that the Central Reserve Bank of Peru put a silver coin into circulation for the bicentennial of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights. The issue is 5,000 pieces. The coin is not in Notofilia’s virtual collection. The note cites Andina.

What the circular sets

That day El Peruano published Circular No. 0023-2026-BCRP. Andina (opens in a new tab) and El Peruano (opens in a new tab) give these specifications: face value S/ 1, 0.925 silver, fine weight of half a troy ounce, diameter 33 mm, proof quality, reeded edge, striking year 2026, and a maximum issue of 5,000. It is legal tender from 24 September 2026.

Obverse and reverse

On the reverse, at the top, is “200 años de Justicia y Derechos Humanos” and the span 1826–2026. In the center is the front of the ministry building, with a portico of arches and columns, and the name “Ministerio de Justicia y Derechos Humanos.” The obverse carries the coat of arms, the text “Banco Central de Reserva del Perú,” the year of striking, and the denomination “Un Sol.”

Gaceta Perú TV says the price will be posted on the BCRP virtual store and adjusted as costs change. When it appears, that figure will be the issuer’s list price, not a hammer. This note does not advance a price the source does not give.
