NUMISCON 2026 brings a fair, an auction, and James I workshops to Castellón

Castellón Diario (7 September 2026) announces NUMISCON 2026 at the Hotel Luz Castellón on 11 and 12 September. It is organised by Jorge Traver, of San Jorge Events and Numismática San Jorge. The organiser’s home page lists it as the 2026 edition — NUMISCON III. The hotel sits next to the station.

Auction on Friday, fair on Saturday

The paper places the start on Friday the 11th at 18:00, with Ibercoin’s NUMISCON 2026 Special Auction in the Sala Austral, taking bids in the room and online. The San Jorge Events (opens in a new tab) listing times that block from 18:00 to 21:00. Saturday the 12th is the convention: 10:00 to 14:00 and 16:30 to 19:30, with dealers, valuations, and talks. A programme for under-16s

Castellón Diario presents NUMISCON as the only numismatic convention in Spain with a dedicated children’s programme. Under-16s enter free. Among the activities it names medieval hammer striking of James I billon dineros, the presence of King James I himself, Pintamonedas, a numismatic trivia game, magic with Pablini, and gifts. The stated aim is to put historic metal in the hands of a generation that may never have held an old coin.

The same text opens the door to non-collectors: a valuation of pieces kept at home, a question about investment gold and silver, or a family day. That does not turn a fair announcement into a buying recommendation.

On the organiser’s site, Saturday general admission is €7 (entry at 10:00 and a convention bag); VIP is €25 (entry at 9:00 and coffee from 8:30); Premium for Friday and Saturday is €119, with a shirt, Friday cocktail dinner, and a lounge.
