El Heraldo de México (opens in a new tab) (Matías Domínguez, 6 October 2026, 14:11) announces the 2026 Numismatic Convention at the Hotel Ritz, 30 Madero, in Mexico City’s historic centre. The dates are Friday 9, Saturday 10, and Sunday 11 October. On Friday the doors are open from 15:00 to 21:00. Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 to 18:00. The paper presents it as a family meeting, with specialists from all 32 states. It is not a Notofilia fair.
Buy, sell, trade
Juan Carlos Valladares, founder of Numismática Madero, tells the Heraldo that the aim is to buy, sell, and trade coins, notes, and shares, mainly from Mexico and also from the rest of the world. They offer advice on origin, history, and value, and they warn against internet ads. The line the paper quotes: a coin from change is not worth a million pesos; “that is impossible.” He adds that some platforms post high figures for the likes. That line is a warning. It is not an appraisal of a piece.
Revolution paper
Valladares points to notes issued by the states after the Revolution, from banks that disappeared with the Banco de México reform, and says some pieces from that period run to thousands of pesos because production was short. He names no note, no serial, and no sale. The price, he says, is set by supply and demand at the moment of the deal. For more, the paper points to Numismática Madero on Facebook and Instagram. The Heraldo does not print those URLs, and this note does not invent them. Families can bring coins: the meeting, he says, is for children too.
